Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2026
Brightment (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a property of URITECT INC., is committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you access our website, our mobile application, and our egress window design and installation services. By using Brightment, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect several types of information to provide and improve our service to you:
- Personal information — your name, email address, phone number, property address, and payment details, collected when you create an account, request a site assessment, or book an installation.
- Usage data — how you access and use our app and website, including IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and time spent using the design tool.
- Photos and uploaded content — photographs of your basement window or foundation that you upload to generate a design concept, and the concept images our AI tools produce from them.
2. How we use your information
- Provide and maintain the Brightment app and website, including generating design concepts from your photos.
- Schedule and manage site assessments, quotes, permits, and installations.
- Process payments and manage your account and free-credit balance.
- Improve, personalize, and enhance your experience with the design tool.
- Send you service updates, quote follow-ups, and promotional materials (you can opt out at any time).
- Detect and prevent fraudulent activity or security threats.
3. Sharing of personal information
Your information may be shared under specific circumstances:
- Service providers — third parties who help us operate the platform, including our AI design provider, payment processors, hosting services, and customer support tools.
- Installation partners — our own installation crew and permit applications require your property address and photos to complete a project you have requested.
- Legal obligations — we will disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a court order, or to protect our legal rights.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred.
4. Data retention and security
We retain your personal information, including your uploaded photos and generated concepts, only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, provide your project history in the app, or meet legal and contractual obligations. We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or deletion. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your privacy rights
- Access and correction — you may request access to your personal data and request corrections if any information is inaccurate.
- Opt-out — you can opt out of promotional communications using the unsubscribe link in those emails.
- Data deletion — you can request deletion of your account, photos, and generated designs, subject to legal and contractual obligations (such as records needed for an active permit or warranty).
6. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website to remember your preferences and analyze traffic. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, but this may affect your ability to use some features.
7. International data transfers
Brightment operates in Canada. Where we use service providers based outside Canada, your data may be transferred to and processed in those locations. We take reasonable steps to ensure such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws, including PIPEDA.
8. Children's privacy
Brightment is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it as soon as possible.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
